Wilshire United Methodist Church, 4350 Wilshire Blvd., L.A., CA, is a media friendly house of active worship. Magnificent gothic sanctuary with stained glass galore, stenciled ceilings, carved wood beams, knaves, beautiful chancel area, pipe organ, and dark oak pews. Large fellowship hall adjoins sanctuary, looking much like an English hunting lodge, and can be used for equipment, background holding and crew feeding, with direct entrance from parking lot. Church features a beautiful Wilshire Blvd. main entrance with wide steps and patio, perfect for a wedding party scene or other assemblage. Bell tower. Building also features a funky 1940's gym, and other rooms that can dress as anything from a student's apartment to a wartime military hospital ward. Church also owns the unoccupied house next door at 635 Plymouth - a quasi-Mediterranean stucco two storey. There is a
parking lot for over 100 cars, which can be rented separately for other location filming in the parking-restricted Hancock Park/Freemont Place area. There are no time restrictions on its use. Hall for feeding and parking lot may be rented together, without filming. Full time media liaison, Lori Jones is available during production hours at 818/845-4048 or 323/964-9562.
A most desirable, friendly, businesslike, and spiritual location in Los Angeles' Mid Wilshire area.
